Why Do The Knights Of Columbus Honor Their Fallen Knights ?
The Knights of Columbus honor fallen knights, especially those who were also members of the order, to commemorate their sacrifice and service, and to offer prayers for their souls. This includes both those who died in military service and those who died as members of the Knights of Columbus. This practice is rooted in the Knights' principles of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism, with a special emphasis on honoring those who gave their lives for their country and their faith.
When Is The Next Opportunity To Honor Our Fallen Knights ?
On Sunday, October 19, the Knights of Columbus of Our Lady of The Lake Council #9132 will be holding a Memorial Service for all our “Fallen Brothers in Christ”. The Memorial Ceremony will start at 4:30 PM and a dinner for will be held in St. Joseph’s Hall immediately following the ceremony. This memorial was established to recognize the service of our fallen brothers to our Council, our community, our parish, and to God. Each of these Fallen Knights, like all Knights, shared the bonds of Charity, Unity and Fraternity and brought their own unique talents and abilities to our fraternity.
